Hello,
First off, I am sorry for all these posts and then erasing them. I have
been having small issues w/ MachineKit-Hal and setting up my system.
So...I was actually using the BBGG instead of the BBB (BeagleBone Black).
This was a major issue at first.
The board, the BBGG (BeagleBone Green Gateway), only allowed me to boot
once into the machinekit system image. Only once!
Anyway...do I need a LCD screen for my BBB so I can use MachineKit-Hal? I
am asking b/c I tried w/ the vncserver and have made no headway. I just
receive many errors.
rtapi_app_main(hal_parport): -19 no such device
I was reading on the machinekit.io site under the documentation heading.
I found that this parallel port is required for 32-bit Debian Distros on
development desktops but I have chosen to use this armhf board, i.e. the
BBB.
So, in hindsight, I would like to apologize first off and then inquire
about the parport and if it is needed for the BBB?
Seth
P.S. When on VNC Viewer and running the vncserver on the BBB, I can gather
data, .log files, and attempt to finalize things before going into the 5"
LCD Cape for use with a BBB, mouse, and keyboard. Anyway, I am new and need
some guidance! Enjoy.
