Just my input here:
we use Dell computer at the office (sorry, almost no Mac there!) and
the Dell display, as there reputation precede them, have a really
high brightness. For casual business usage (word processing and
Excel), your eyes can adapt (after a few days!) to them, but I'm not
sure I would like to do photo editing on them.
But, so far, I never tried one of those on my PB.
Also, the Apple display 20" is only a few bucks more than the Dell
one. So, sometimes, I consider the first 800$ ask for the Dell a
charge, and the 200$ more invested for the Apple one, and investment.
Just a way of saying it!

Recommendations for reasonably-priced LCDs with a DVI connection I
can use on my Titanium PowerBook? Native 1600 resolution would be
nice but not essential.
