I didn't make it clear that I had already run through the System Profiler
on OS X and not found anything remotely looking like it should be a Machine
ID.

Hmmm... this would pose a problem if I didn't have OS 9 on the machine;
however, I did start up Classic and checked the Apple System Profiler. The
Hardware overview shows an entry for Machine ID but nothing close to what I
had expected according to Mactracker. This one says '1206' which doesn't
come close.

I'll drop a note to the developer to see if he had any ideas on why I'm
seeing the '1206' when I had expected 'PowerMac2,1'

Thanks for the response.
