I spent 10 years working in photo retail including management and see your point but...... and what you say is true, you pay extra for support and for some customers this is more important than getting a better break on price. There are also times when you know what you want and the difference in cost is a more compelling arguement for making a purchase at a particular place even though the sales staff are useless.
