JAE,
If you have a beige that won't run Panther (and without using xpostfacto), Jag does NOT have even the basic features that the Mac OS 9 schedule had for scheduled startup. :(
If you could find a copy of EnergyX, your problem could possibly be fixed. Unfortunately the download link from:
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13840 is kaput.
Maybe get into AppleScript and make a startup and shutdown script between OS 9 and x and let OS 9 do the scheduling. Probably not the best method for "easy to use Macs". ;)
Why some of the most basic features of OS 9 were not carried over to even OS 10.2.x is something that only Apple can explain - which they won't. And they called 10.2 an upgrade. Gheese, give us break Apple. :(

Maybe I didn't make myself very clear but I have figured out how to do this in Panther and would like some assistance doing the same for my machine running OS10.2.8 Jaguar.
There is no schedule tab in the energy saver SP in Jaguar.
I seem to remember scheduled boot-ups were possible on my old 604e machine running OS9 and would think the same possible under Jaguar but how exactly that is done beats the heck out of me.
Thanks,
JAE
