French is part of what we are as a people
<<

Hey, please don't get me wrong. I like our multicultural fabric. I just
think that it's unnaturally weighted to the PQ side; the land of the
language police. I mean what is this pur lain stuff anyway? And tell me
about "je me souvienes" the license plate slogan. What is it they're
remembering anyway? Could it be a certain battle with the Brits on the
Plains of Abraham?
There are many nationalities who contributed tremendously to our Canada.
Take the native peoples for instance who carry our true heritage, the
Ukrainians and Germans who cultivated our prairies and the Chinese who
built our coast to coast railway at great cost of life and limb.
As an early immigrant to this country from the old eastern block I love
to see the cultural diversity that exists here especially in cities like
Toronto, Hamilton, Winnipeg and Vancouver in particular. Many others too.
But please, give me a break when it comes to wasting billions of dollars
yearly on jamming french down our throats and offering services that
hardly anyone uses. Let's trade that waste of public funds for better
health care, lower taxes, cheaper electricity, a chicken in every pot
and Macs in every school.

OK
And I am so happy to see that in preliminary tests Apple has once again
smoked the dark side into mere mediocrity. Thanks Captain Jobs.
