i've downloaded maxima and it's in a normal path ("C:\users\"name") and
according to what I understand LyX should have detected it automatically
but it didn't, I want to update it manually but I don't know in which of
the following paths it should be updated?
[image: image.png]and also after it starts working in terms of using it in LyX, when I highlight an expression and then press on CAS->maxima what exactly will happen? for example if it's just some numerical calculation (2+2), some equation (y=x+5), or just some expression of parameters I want to simplify (a^7*b^3.5/[a^5*b^4.5]), is this button a do all button or do I need to define shortcuts to each operation I want? and are there any limits or can you used pretty much the entirety of maxima though lyx - as in also generating plots and graphs, tables and whatever else is possible there? thanks in advance for the help, Matan
