All:

I successfully installed Lubuntu 16.04 Beta2 on my minimum-system-test machine (an HP Vectra, 450 megahertz, 512 megabytes RAM).

I used the live system (from USB), running the installer from the desktop icon.

The system runs okay, including MIDI testing with a software synthesizer (Qsynth).

I have encountered no problems, and a pleasant surprise.

In Open Java 7, in 15.10, the GTK+ look-and-feel had become unusable (attempting to use it would hang your Java application).

In 16.04, where the default-jre package now loads Open Java 8, the GTK+ look-and-feel works fine again.

I would like to congratulate all of the Linux developers and testers, on what appears to be a good system release!

Sincerely,
Aere
