Abstract: Eliot Sober has argued that design arguments that are based on
inference to the best explanation make dubious predictions. If such an
objection is applied to any theistic argument that relies on the same form
of reasoning, we are led to ‘theological skepticism’. But here I argue that
theological skepticism fails to undermine such arguments for theism if we
take divine love as the grounding source for what I call ‘theological
predictivism’, that is, predictions regarding certain divine actions.
Furthermore, I claim that even if theological skepticism were successful,
it would also compromise similar arguments for atheism.
