I had made this same mistake.

I had remixed a track by rap artist Jarren Benton as part of a
competition. This track makes heavy use of Zyn, TripleOsc and is a good
representation of what LMMS has to offer.

Unfortunately, the producer, Funk Volume has exclusive rights to this remix
that state derivative works belong in-part to them.

Its like a GIMP competition allowing submitters to borrow from pro
photographers. Not only is it not fair to the original content authors,
the burden of researching permission/licensing ultimately falls on the
republisher.

What makes this clause gray, is songs form the LSP, which are publicly
available specifically by the LMMS project, and which clearly state the
open license. IMO, derivative works should not have the name "remix" in
it, but rather attribution in the comments as to not be confused with a
"stems" or "commercially sponsored" remix. I think LSP modifications
should be considered if they link to the original and state the license.
After all, this is the purpose of the LSP, and it's a project sanctioned
competition.

However, I would argue that only LSP shared tracks can be considered, as
that would level the playing field and encourage LSP usage. Non-original,
Non-LSP usage would be too difficult to prove permission over.

That's my two cents.
