I've got an old pentium mmx 200mhz 16mb RAM, 3Gig HD that I want to do LFS with. It's got nothing on it. I don't have any other machine I can put a linux on at this time. My wife has an OSX laptop I'm using for unix work.
I tried running LiveCD but it froze at unpacking initramfs. I found a thread in the mailing lists saying that the current version now requires more than 32MB RAM, but that I could pare down the initramfs to make it work with 32MB RAM. I tried that but it still freezes in my 16MB Ram machine. What will I need to do to get to to run in 16MB RAM? How much is used up by the various components leading up to this? What can I turn off? thanks James -- "Advances are made by answering questions. Discoveries are made by questioning answers." Bernard Haisch
