Thinking about this some more - I think it’s likely that interlaced video (in 
which each key frame consists of a pair of successive frames, rather than just 
one) just won’t work with our ‘trick play’ mechanism.  (I don’t recall ever 
testing this with interlaced video.)

If that’s the case, then it would probably be non-trivial to upgrade the code 
to support interlaced video, and I have no real inclination to do this anyway, 
given that it’s 2017 (almost 2018), and nobody should really be using 
interlaced video anymore.  Sorry.
