Many thanks for the on-going dialog! My evaluation of the Proxy Server / Live Media is probably going to lead to total dependence :-) openRTSP and the entire live555 library is very much on our radar screen. I'm still becoming familiar with the various pieces and parts. I did spend some time looking at openRTSP and the sample test programs, however, I did not see a way to send a REGISTER command to the Proxy Server. I'm not a c++ programmer, so most the of code itself is beyond my reach. At this point i'm just prototyping a few sample use cases and a high-level over-view for further discussion within our organization.
In your response you mentioned the -t option. I have been using this option during all parts of this thread of discussion. I have found that the -t option is necessary to make connections across our routers. Before inquiring about the REGISTER option I had been successful with using the Proxy Server from the command line and everything worked as expected...using the same client (VLC) and the same stream. At one point I had 50 proxy streams running and was making multiple VLC connections to stress test and was very pleased with performance. Using current code I just now tried this test by running from command line ./live555ProxyServer -t -v "rtsp://<ip>:<port>/axis-media/media.amp?resolution=480x270&fps=3&compression=40&videokeyframeinterval=18". Connect from VLC works perfectly!! Is there any chance that the -t option is not being processed for streams that are being registered? Is there any debugging I can due to confirm this? Thanks again for your time and patience.
