I'm trying to decode some H.264 and AAC. It seems like live555 would be ideal for this task, but I'm getting mixed advice about LGPL under iOS for paid AppStore Apps.

I get the impression many developers are just including live555 regardless in their paid apps, which puts me at a huge disadvantage. Is there something about LGPL that I'm missing that does allow inclusion of live555 in such a project? I don't want to distribute my source, and distributing my .o files seems like cheating the licensing, since I can't imagine anyone being able to reconstruct the app in any meaningful way without jail-breaking a device.

I really appreciate the efforts involved in open source having contributed myself to some projects. So I don't want to be another developer just embedding it regardless.

TIA for any advice. Peter.
