I did generate a file, which was well playable by VLC and also with an Android 3 tablet. Sorry for not mentioning this.
I did some more testing using the testOnDemandRTSPServer and found out, that streaming a file via unicast instead of multicast, works for all my devices: iPhone and Android 2 and 3. Now I will try to stream my live source via unicast. I've already seen the description in the FAQ :)
