I use the prebuilt live555 server binary and a .264 sample file which is downloaded from live555 web site for testing h.264 streaming. I found that quicktime player version 7.6.9 can't play the stream. After quicktime sucessfully connects to the live 555 server, the quicktime only displays a scrolling bar and shows nothing. Is it a problem for quicktime or live555?
Quicktime. QuickTime Player apparently does not support the 'profile' of H.264 video that was used to encode the ".264" file that you used.
If, however, you use the VLC client - http://www.videolan.org/vlc - you'll find that it can play the stream OK.
