What I suggest:
- Open the UDP port 15947 (the one live555 will use, hardcoded) in the firewall of the computer if enabled - Add the following route "route add -host 228.67.43.91 dev eth0" on the correct interface (228.67.43.91 is the multicast IP address used by live555, hardcoded)

This will work, but it's better to add a route for 224.0.0/4 - i.e., all IP multicast addresses, so that multicast applications (both ours and others) will work properly.
