Well, it selects 37 (IBM EBCDIC - U.S./Canada) by default for me. I don't know 
what it is as I never heard about it (and I am pretty sure it's not the current 
encoding in my system - it should be either 852 or 1250) but I'm sure if a user 
selects something else for a try they will have hard time to find the default 
setting later.
We have the default value marked in such kind of lists elsewhere in the program 
(e.g. in the locale setting) and I miss the same feature here.
