Ken, thank you for your extensive report. We are aware of this problem but despite the numerous earlier reports we still need someone who's able to reproduce these crashes and assist us to find the root of the problem.
To keep things clean I won't mark this as a duplicate bug (of Bug #1238966 or Bug #1111890 , the ones with the most advanced discussion so far) as long as we don't know if you're able to help us out further. We need some further information, as follows: -How large is your Download Queue (approx. number of files)? -What was the oldest version of DC++ you tried and still crashing? -How many hubs are you in overall? Could you try to pinpoint the offending hub(s) for us by half-splitting them (close half of them, see if it still crashes)? ** Changed in: dcplusplus Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: dcplusplus Status: New => Incomplete ** Tags added: core win32-ui ** Tags added: crash -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Dcplusplus-team, which is subscribed to DC++. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1265204 Title: DC++ has encountered a problem and needs to close Status in DC++: Incomplete Bug description: For a long time now I get this message “DC++ has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.” Sometimes I come back later after starting it up and it will just be gone, closed. This happens randomly, sometimes immediately, sometimes hours, sometimes a day after restarting it. I have been saving the error .txt messages from the user temp folder. I have installed older versions, re-installed various versions. Cleared out any and all temp files and items relating to DC++ in the registry. Purchased another better, faster computer, re-installed clean version of XP pro and DC++ and still get this. Otherwise it works perfectly while it is running.
