I think you meant try UPGRADING again, not downgrading. Here's a recap: I had 0.822 installed. The app informed me that 0.825 upgrade was available. I attempted to upgrade. It seemed to go okay, but (a) my shared files pointer was not brought forward, and any attempt to perform a search caused Windows Exception. Shortly afterward, the app informed me that 0.828 was available. Performed the upgrade from 0.825 to 0.828. Crashed on upgrading and failed to write crash.log.
Posted this bug report. Reverted back from crashed 0.828 to 0.822. Downgrade succeeded, my shared files pointer reappeared, and was able to search again without error. Read poy's request to "try another 0.828 / 0.822 round trip to confirm" message. Ran upgrade from working 0.822 to 0.828 (difference from before being 0.825 is NOT in the loop). Successful. Shared files pointer is maintained, search engine works, no crash. Bug report can be closed if of no further use to anyone. DC++ crashes when trying to (re) add my shared folder. I have reverted back to version 0.822 and my network shared files, already hashed, were immediately available. Running Windows XP Pro SP3 with latested updates. Shared files are on a Macintosh-based network share.
