This looks really nice. I think

1) should not be a problem
2) its up to the Linux devs to solve it for themselves. DC++'s main target is 
the WIndows platform and in 99.9% of cases we (will) get the crash reports from 
people using Windows (I mean this should not delay to add this important 
feature to DC++ asap)
3) I think the old method is the proper way because the .pdb file can be 
deleted optionally if someone doesn't need it. It adds another step in the task 
of creating the release packages but that's the only disadvantage I can think 
of.
4) it needs to contain at least the os version, architecture, build revno, what 
(local/profile) mode used, maybe the paths or even contents of settings .xml 
files (the latter can be a privacy issue maybe)...
