Rather than repair, you could probably get a similar laptop for the same price. Well, maybe--cheap laptops have really gotten cheaper, but, in US dollars, at least it seems there's a bunch for under $500, then to improve the quality a bit, you're going up to $700, not to mention how Dell, for example, advertises a low price, but the specs are terrible, then charges $100 for another GB of RAM, and so on.
