I recommend dropping this patch. Given that the v7.0 kernel already set a new precedent of not publishing "Soft Reserve", there is no pressing need at this time to bring it back. We can always revive a patch like this with a regression rationale, but otherwise a less busy /proc/iomem is attractive.
