Updated the package and it fixed the kdump problem. The other problem with firmware was resolved by updating the linux-firmware from the git repo at https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git i.e. git clone https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/firmware/linux-firmware.git cd linux-firmware make install Jeff
