As your OS aptly said it is not a block device which you can mount. A
tape would usually not have a filesystem from which you can access a
file like a usual media.

You need to elaborate as to what exactly you wish to do with your tape
drive. Do you already have data on the tape or do you wish to take a
backup or something else ?
