3. patch current kernel with ndiswrapper's 16K patch against 2.6.8
Or
4. Figure out if the wifi or modem chipset you use has a native or third
party linux driver - madwifi for broadcom / atheros, ipw2200 for intel's
centrino 802.11abg etc, and use that.
