All, I've created a LOD Linked Data Space <http://community.linkeddata.org/ods/index.html> that is open to LOD community members. I encourage all members of this mailing list to join as part of the Linked Data Dog-Fooding effort that is already underway :-)
Here is a simple HOWTO: 1. Register/Signup (note: OpenID is supported) 2. Fill in your profile details (note the synonyms field for other IDs/URIs you already have for yourself) 3. Subscribe to a some of your favorite RSS/ATOM data sources via the Feeds app 4. View you Linked Data presence via: http://community.linkeddata.org/dataspace/<your-user-id> (*for your FOAF information resource*) 5. View you Linked Data presence via: http://community.linkeddata.org/dataspace/<your-user-id> (*for your SIOC information resource*) 6. Note your URI/ID: http://community.linkeddata.org/dataspace/<your-user-id>#this 7. Explore the "Linked Data" Tab from your profile page Of course there is much more to all of this (for the adventurous), but I think baby steps are critical at initial launch :-) My Linked Data Community URIs: 1. Me <http://linkeddata.org/dataspace/person/kidehen2#this> 2. My FOAF Space <http://linkeddata.org/dataspace/person/kidehen2> 3. My SIOC Space <http://linkeddata.org/dataspace/kidehen> Notes: 1. When you make/create things using this ODS <http://data.openlinksw.com/oplweb/product_family/dca#this> instance they will show up in your FOAF space (via foaf:made) 2. You can use the Profile page tab "Made" or "Related" to make claims about things you've made elsewhere (naturally you just need URIs for those things) 3. You can also use the Profile page tab "Related" to reference other things you are associated with 4. If you have a person entity URI for yourself elsewhere simply use the Profile page's "synonyms" field to capture such URIs (net effect is an owl:sameAs link) 5. You can use the AddressBook to build up a FOAF based addressbook or just use the "Related" tab in the Profile page to capture your contact URIs All data you create is dereferencable via your person entity URI/ID. Finally, this instance of ODS is going through changes and bug fixes at a frenetic rate, so quirks you see today could be gone tomorrow. That said, do not hesitate to drop me a line. A phpBB3 based discussion forum is also taking shape at: http://community.linkeddata.org/phpBB3/ Wordpress and MediaWiki instance initializations will follow. -- Regards, Kingsley Idehen Weblog: http://www.openlinksw.com/blog/~kidehen President & CEO OpenLink Software Web: http://www.openlinksw.com _______________________________________________ Linking-open-data mailing list [email protected] http://simile.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/linking-open-data
