Hi all, In our Linked Data fervour we pretty much managed to miss celebrating the first birthday of the Linking Open Data project, which by my calculations should be 29th January [1].
To commemorate the hard work and success of everyone who has contributed to the project and the LD community in general in the last 12 months, I wrote a short retrospective called "No more toy examples - the Linking Open Data project, one year on" for the latest issue of the Talis Platform Newsletter [2], and blogged some more thoughts at [3]. Mike also wrote an excellent piece at [4] that covers the upcoming Linked Data Planet and Semantic Technology conferences. The growth in the project, the amount of Linked Data avilable on the Web, and the general awareness of Linked Data ideas has been huge in the last year. So, Happy (belated) Birthday LOD Project :D On a related note, the provisional programme for LDOW2008 is now online at [5]. Cheers, Tom.
