Thanks for all your help over so many years! My 10 year old HP laptop which I had converted to Linux Ubuntu lost its internet adapter late last week. I'm now trying to set up my Lenovo laptop that came with Linux Ubuntu. I could not do a restore from my full backup because the Lenovo would not recognize the backup program.
So, I'm stuck trying to install both Frescobaldi and LilyPond myself. I would like to install the latest stable version of each. Maybe a later version of LilyPond; I'm not sure. There are no instructions for installation that I can find on either the Frescobaldi or the LilyPond main site. I've tried the LilyPond archives. I can work with terminal, but I think I need fairly explicit instructions. I have downloaded lilypond-2.24.4-linux-x86_64.tar.gz and I can get Frescobaldi 4.0.3 from their website. but I don't know what to do next. I apologize for my computer inabilities.
