Okay, so I am using an intel Haswell processor that is Quicksync compatible. I know that VAAPI Encoding can do a similair job, but from the comfort of an operating system that I actually want to use. It's no fun switching back and forth between operating systems.
So I am trying my hardest to figure out how I can get VAAPI encoding to work. The first thing I tried was the GUI option of transmageddon.. However, I can not in any circumstance get Transmageddon to make use of the GPU. Here's a pastebin link to vainfo http://pastebin.com/0XQwie4Z I appear to get closer to achieving my desired results through gstreamer when using the below commands 1. gst-launch-1.0 filesrc blocksize=10000000 location=infile.mp4 ! videoparse format=i420 height=1080 width=1920 framerate=30/1 ! vaapipostproc ! queue ! vaapiencode_h264 ! qtmux ! filesink location=test2.mp4 Running this spits out the this error http://pastebin.com/Rd4Xzwh5 Again, I apologise for the incredibly dumb questions. My specs are Intel® Pentium(R) CPU G3258 @ 3.20GHz × 2 Graphics Intel® Haswell Desktop 64bit Thank you
