Hi, As the libva standard moves on and evolves between the various releases of IEGD, shipping our own libva library ensures that the customer has a version of the library that our driver is compatible with.
Fyi, our current driver is compatible with 0.29. Going forward, we're planning to be more aligned w/ the libva releases. ishu -----Original Message----- From: Bian, Jonathan Sent: Thursday, February 11, 2010 12:31 PM To: [email protected]; [email protected] Cc: Verma, Ishu Subject: RE: Special libva binary bundled with IEGD Hi Andreas, My guess is that the IEGD driver has not been updated to work with the latest libva releases. I am copying Ishu Verma who supports the IEGD driver at Intel and he would be able to answer your question on this. Just wanted to ask a quick question regarding the bundled libva binary that comes with IEGD. Why is that needed? Any particular reasons? It seems that a custom compiled standard libva works just as fine. Maybe you Jonathan can shine any light on this? The IEDG manual doesn't say much other than that you should copy the file. The reason is that recent mplayers really needs more recent libva than the ones bundled with IEDG.
