Hello everyone, I'm Jesus Solis and I will be participating in Google Summer of Code this year. My project will involve adding JPEG XL image support to LibreOffice.
The main reasons for adding JPEG XL support are that it will provide another option for compressed images (that is supposed to be more efficient in some cases) and that it will provide compatibility with other software. This new implementation will use the WebP implementation in https://gerrit.libreoffice.org/c/core/+/128920 as a reference, especially toward the beginning. The libjxl library (https://github.com/libjxl/libjxl) will also be a useful resource. I look forward to contributing to LibreOffice and collaborating with members of the community.
