Personally, despite being an experienced (WIndows and Unix) developer etc, I loathe having to use non-standard archive formats. I really dislike having to install 3rd-party Windows software from random places on the net, that you never know if it is reliable or infected by malware and whatnot. rar, 7z, blecch.
