I have reverted my attempt and ported the patch. I tested the samples from fdo#38441 and fdo#46165 and all are working correctly. Unfortunately it is a little hard to test these at the moment because the registry entries to enable the OLE/COM magic are missing ( one needs to tweak the registry manually ) thanks, Noel note: didn't try to apply these to 3.4 but they should apply I think, if not I can provide a version that will
