I am looking for reviews for this workaround:

to get the patch on the 3.4 branch (only). This is a workaround to get
the test suite run without failure. The test failure might point to an
more serious issue, this is only a workaround. For that it needs to be
investigated, if there is indeed a serious breakage in headless mode
functionality. Then, the root cause must be fixed and the workaround
has to be reverted.
