Heiko Tietze <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC|libreoffice-ux-advise@lists |heiko.tietze@documentfounda |.freedesktop.org |tion.org Keywords|needsUXEval | --- Comment #19 from Heiko Tietze <[email protected]> --- We discussed the topic at the design meeting. One use case for "Split Sort" would be sorting of IP numbers. Nothing similarly clear for alphanumeric vs. natural, though. Alternatives to the current dropdown could be a set of radiobuttons in order to provide tooltips or a combination of checkbox and radiobutton like Order: [ ] Natural Sort ( ) Use entire numbers ( ) Split integer and fractional parts The label "Natural Sort" could also be "Recognize numbers within strings", "Parse numbers in Strings", or "Numeric Sort". The label "Order" should be rephrased too (if label and control are not in one line anymore) in order to point out that this option does not apply to numbers. Something like "Order for textual content:" comes in mind. Ultimately we need to provide a proper documentation, perhaps also via a dedicated sidebar tab that shows up when some (i)-button is pressed. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
