This cannot be done in mass. If I enter anything into the whiteboard
field then whatever was already there is overwritten...which we don't
want. I'm holding off until I stop getting suggestions to change things.

if the whiteboard cannot be edited for technical reasons, just do the ping
without touching the whiteboard
