It may be that there is a regression, but as pointed out in comment 4 and in this report: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67464 ... EPS rendering has never been "production quality". It may have been /acceptable/ under an earlier version, but that may also have been due to luck or a hack, since there is no native rendering for EPS.
