Bug ID: 147138
Summary: Installation of language pack hangs on macOS
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 7.2.5.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: macOS (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Installation
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
I use LibreOffice in British English (en-GB) on macOS and therefore always
install that language pack when upgrading LO.
During my most recent upgrade cycles (7.2.4 to 7.2.5 and 7.2.5 to 7.3.0), I was
unable to get the LibreOffice language pack to install properly. Either the
correct folder could not be found or the language pack installation app hung
and had to be killed using force-quit. In the past, one way to get it to work
would be to log out and back in or to restart the computer. This also no longer
works. I have now had to resort to the workaround described in comment 96 of
bug 134607 to get the language pack working.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Download the newest version of LibreOffice and the desired language pack.
2. Install LibreOffice.
3. Run LibreOffice once and close it
4. Open the language pack disk image and try to install it with the enclosed
app.
Actual Results:
Installer cannot find the right folder and gives an error message OR installer
hangs and has to be foce-quit.
Expected Results:
The language pack installs properly and LO runs in the desired language.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: No
Additional Info:
Version: 7.3.0.3 / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 0f246aa12d0eee4a0f7adcefbf7c878fc2238db3
CPU threads: 8; OS: Mac OS X 10.16; UI render: Skia/Raster; VCL: osx
Locale: en-GB (en_GB.UTF-8); UI: en-GB
Calc: threaded
Running macOS 12.2. Obviously, this is the information after manually
installing the language pack using the above-mentioned workaround.
