            Bug ID: 146074
Summary: Selecting content and then replacing it, makes new
                    content directly formatted # formatting
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 7.2.2.2 release
          Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
                OS: Linux (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
When selecting content and replacing it, LibreOffice doesn't simply use the
selected style to format the new content, it formats them as directly formatted
... no clue why, but i don't think this is the intended behaviour.

For months now i've been bothered by this, constantly having to clear direct
formatting. I don't think that the version is very important, but my version on
Manjaro Linux Stable is the following:

Version: 7.2.2.2 / LibreOffice Community Build ID: 20(Build:2) CPU threads: 4;
OS: Linux 5.10; UI render: default; VCL: gtk3 Locale: de-DE (en_US.utf8); UI:
en-US 7.2.2-2 Calc: threaded

Steps to Reproduce:
• Make a new document and write some words

• Open the Style Inspector and watch out for changes in lowest Section
(„Character Direct Formatting“)

• Change the font of the current style (via Style > Edit Style)

• Select a word that you’ve previously written and replace it, by typing it
again

• Notice how the word that you’ve replaced is now directly formatted, meaning
that if you change the styles’ font again, this word will not change font

Actual Results:
Formatting gets chaotic, because it's not visible what part has been directly
formatted.

Expected Results:
New content should simply use the style that the replaced&selected content had
before.

Reproducible: Always
