--- Comment #9 from R. Green <[email protected]> ---
It is already possible to change Footnotes to de facto "Endnotes" by selecting
Position > End of Document (Tools > Footnotes & Endnnotes > Footnotes).
I would like to sugest the following enhancement (Bug 143430). Extend the
properties of ENDNOTES so that they have the same options as FOOTNOTES (as seen
in Tools > Footnotes & Endnnotes > Footnotes).
In effect FOOTNOTES and ENDNOTES would become two varieties of the same thing.
The essential difference being that Footnotes would have a default setting of
"End of Page", while Endnotes would have a default setting of "End of
document".
This would allow Endnotes and Footnotes to become freely interchageable. It
would also give users the option of having two sets of "Footnotes" with
different anchor/character styles. The latter is sometimes needed "for parallel
sequences of notes serving different purposes" (New Harts Rules, 2005, p. 315).
