Steps in bug 142769 are good, and with that and Bug 142029 I reproduced with
7.2+:
1) I create a calc ods spreadsheet file
2) select columns from D to last column with: Ctrl-Shift+right arrow and hide
3) save the file and close
4) reopen the file and type something in some cell
5) save the file again and close
6) reopen the file and see that columns BM through AMJ are visible again.
