Yes, let's close this. Indeed, I didn't manage to fix everything; but the code
diverged considerably, and it became increasingly difficult to follow the log.
If PVS-Studio people would find time and energy to re-check current master, it
would be very welcome, and it would best be tracked in a new issue.
