Bug ID: 170618
Summary: value reappears in cell when last digit deleted
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.4.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: minor
Priority: medium
Component: Calc
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Description:
A cell contains, e.g., '123'.
Click Backspace from the end and it becomes '12'.
Repeat and it's '1'.
But if I Backspace to remove the last character it changes back to '123', as if
I had not deleted it at all, and now Backspace no longer has any effect.
The '123' displayed isn't really there: if I hit Enter then the cell is empty.
If I type a digit then the digit replaces it.
Because it's so obvious, I have to wonder whether this is deliberate. If so,
what is the thinking behind it?
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Enter '123' in a cell
2. Delete each digit
3. See '123' reappear.
Actual Results:
'123' reappears.
Expected Results:
An empty cell, reflecting the fact that the number has been deleted.
Reproducible: Always
User Profile Reset: Yes
Additional Info:
None.
