@raal,

Alas not, it's one file I'm working on which isn't yet ready and published -
thanks to the authoring program.

I can just report what happens, if nobody can reproduce, or other people in
struggle don't search the bug reports or don't find it'll share the fate of
plenty of bugs and stay unconfirmed. I'm in doubt the production process will
ever find to hard stress tests ... or someone will add a file structure
checking
tool, a formatting calculation checking tool, or similar.

I can report additional that in an attempt to trim the layout to "book" with
left and right pages it was impossible to find a solution which alternates left
right, left right header and footer, left right alternating logo, logo placed
stable on page instead relative to text area, different left / right layout of
header and footer for the prelims, roman page numbers for the prelims, arabic
for the main text, and starting main chapters on right pages. Some is possible
with manually inserting blank pages ... which is f..... u. after further edits.
:-(

In desperation I stripped everything except text formatting, paragraph
templates, indexes, figures, tables, footnotes, endnotes, cross references and
two text boxes and ... lost some footnotes, some endnotes, some changed type,
some indexes turned to "reference not found" while it was there, lost some
pictures and the textboxes ... list still incomplete.

Strong proposal for others: don't start projects in LO writer which may grow to
more than 100 pages ( think to remember that the oddities started around that
size ), keep lots of hourly backups as you'll often be late in noticing missing
things, and maintain some statistics about filled pages, word count, figure
count, table count ... to become aware of missing things as soon as possible.

More oddities? Don't think <ctrl-s> will save your work and you can perform
hard shutdowns thereafter ... if you are in "search" ( <ctrl-f> ) save (
<ctrl-s> ) doesn't work.

sorry, forgot in OP:

Version: 24.8.5.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community
Build ID: 480(Build:2)
CPU threads: 8; OS: Linux 6.8; UI render: default; VCL: x11
Locale: en-US (en_US.UTF-8); UI: en-US
Debian package version: 4:24.8.5-2
Calc: threaded

More oddities? copy above version info vanishes from clipboard if you close
writer.

Aside: xmllint says content.xml file is ok, so more likely LO writer internal
issues than my system fu..... files.
