            Bug ID: 168784
Summary: After Windows 11 Update LibreOffice Write can't do
                    search and replace.
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 25.8.1.1 release
          Hardware: Other
                OS: Windows (All)
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]

Wow. This bug reporting form is complicated for an end user without programming
experience!

I just had to update Windows 11 out of security concerns and an update of a 3rd
party program not working on the earlier version of Windows 11.

I just noticed that when I have a text file in LibreOffice and try to do search
and replace I get a weird number claiming that over 1,000 instances have been
replaced when it hasn't done anything.

I exported a list from a program to a text file, which had "[]" in lieu of a
check box. I tried to clean up the text file by replacing it with a space-bar
press in search and replace. This has always worked for me in the past. With
the updated version of Windows 11 LibreOffice Write gives the message claiming
over 1,000 items were replaced and nothing happened. I saved the file, thinking
that might help. Still didn't work. Then I tried dropping it into Word and ran
the search and replace in Word. It worked in Word and said there were 125
instances that were replaced.
