repro 26.2+

misspellings to the left of the cell: possible when the content is middle or
right-aligned. I think solving this would require a complete re-write of how
spell checking works. Only worth the effort to do that if it is needed by
Right-To-Left users.

misspellings to the right of the cell: generally, you DO want the autocorrect
dialog to show up when you right-click over top of a misspelled word.

Exceptions: when (a part of) the word is selected - bug 98902

(In reply to daniel.schaaaf from comment #0)
> right-clicking the cell will present the autocorrect context menu
Right-clicking over a misspelled word will..., not "over the cell" in general.

> This goes as far as entering edit mode for the right-adjacent cell when
> misspelled text overlaps with that neighbouring cell
Yes. Very intentional, and very necessary.

> Interestingly, this does not happen in v5.4.73.2
It does happen for me, already in OOo 3.3 (but perhaps you are referring to
something I don't understand). In OOo 3.3, the spell check context menu pops up
even on right-overlapping cells - and the left-clicking (to get rid of the
spellPopup) leaves the cursor at the end of the cell's text.

> Expected Results:
> The regular right-click context menu for a cell, not it's containing text
Absolutely not! How would you correct a misspelling then if it spills out of
the cell?

I tend to agree with comment 3 / bug 80751 for most of this bug report.

However, your point (and comment 9) about inconsistency on the left side is
valid, so lets focus the bug report on that aspect. I changed the title
accordingly.
