            Bug ID: 168209
Summary: Writer - Auto Complete - Enclose with characters -
does not honour Straight or Curly Quotes replacement
                    settings in AutoCorrect settings
           Product: LibreOffice
           Version: 24.8.1.2 release
          Hardware: All
                OS: All
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: medium
         Component: Writer
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Description:
As the title/summary says.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. In Writer AutoCorrect > Localised Options (tab) set things so that Single
and Double Quotes are not replaced with curly quotes.

2. In Writer make sure that the following setting is enabled: (menu) Tools >
LibreOffice > LibreOffice Writer > Formatting Aids > Auto complete > Enclose
with characters

3. In Writer just type in a sentence of arbitrary text then highlight/select
the whole sentence.

4. Now press either the double quote or single quote key on the keyboard.

5. The "Enclose with characters" routine steps in and adds either double or
single quote marks to the highlighted/selected sentence. However, if the user
has disabled Curly Quotes in AutoCorrect settings this gets ignored by the
"Enclose with characters" routine. Or, put another way, it seems that the
"Enclose with characters" routine will always use Curly Quotes, regardless of
any setting made in AutoCorrect by the user to only use straight quote marks.

Actual Results:
See 'Steps to Reproduce' above.

Expected Results:
Software should observe user settings on if straight quote marks or curly quote
marks are to used.

I am thinking there are two ways to resolve this behaviour:

Resolution 1. At the Formatting Aids 'Auto complete' setting have a sub-setting
such that the user can explicitly choose to use either straight or curly quotes
for the "Enclose with characters" routine.

Resolution 2. Just have "Enclose with characters" respect the straight or curly
quotes settings in AutoCorrect.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No
