Bug ID: 168103
Summary: Cannot set textbox "Position and Size" to full height
/ top-left position by typing
Product: LibreOffice
Version: 25.8.0.4 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Linux (All)
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: medium
Component: Writer
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Steps to reproduce:
Note, the steps below are given assuming units set to inches. Not sure if
that's required, but note that this was fiddly and hard to write reliable
reproduction steps for.
- Create new Text Document
- Insert -> Text Box, draw a text box anywhere on the page, type "test" in it
- Click off of the text box, then click on it again to activate it, then
right-click it and choose "Position and Size". (The fact that right-clicking it
immediately doesn't bring up the correct menu is a different issue.)
- Change "Anchor" to "Page" (not sure if that's required for reproducing this).
Now, in the Position and Size for the text box, attempt to change the Width to
5.5 and the Height to 8.5, by typing in numbers and then either pressing tab or
clicking in another part of the dialog (don't type the ", and don't press
enter). The height stays at a value smaller than that.
Attempt to change the "Vertical" position to 0, by typing in a 0 and either
pressing tab or clicking in another part of the dialogue (don't type the " and
don't press enter). The vertical does not stay at 0. (Note that the maximum
height and the minimum vertical position add up to 8.5".)
Note that "Keep inside text boundaries" is not checked, and is greyed out.
Now, try typing a vertical position of 0 and *pressing enter*, or try changing
the value by pressing the - button; that seems to work as expected.
Note: I also experienced similar issues attempting to set Horizontal to "Right"
or "Left", where it would not place itself at the far right or left. That may
be a different issue, however.
