While I'm preparing a talk, I often test the slide transitions and most of the time there's no bug. But every now and the the bug appears. It happen a couple of times during the actual presentation, so now, once the slides are done, I use the extension ExpandAnimations to generate a PDF, and I always present the PDF version to avoid surprises. To see the bug you need to use Impress often and start/stop a presentation multiple times until you see the bug.
